GigEasy
Fintech, backed by Barclays and Bain Capital

An investor-ready first version, built from scratch in three weeks.

The benchmark for a cycle like this is ten weeks. GigEasy reached an investor demo in three, with infrastructure that did not have to be thrown away afterwards.

The situation

GigEasy had a funding conversation scheduled and nothing to show. I was the first engineer hired; the rest of the team joined later. There was no product, no infrastructure, and no time to build either the slow way.

What I did

Scope was cut to what an investor actually needs to see: the core flow, working, with real data. Everything else was written down and deliberately left for later, which is the only reason three weeks was possible.

Infrastructure went in as code from the first day, with Pulumi, so environments were reproducible instead of hand-assembled. That is what kept the demo build from becoming disposable.

The result

The first version reached the investor demo in three weeks against a ten week benchmark, roughly 70% of the usual cycle saved, and the platform went on to raise from Barclays, Bain Capital, and Zean Capital Partners.
